iPhone 6 Plus
Apple's First Phablet
The iPhone 6 Plus is Apple's biggest phone yet. Here's a look at some of its new and amazing features.
- 5.5 HD Display
- 401 pixels per inch
The iPhone 6 Plus has a hefty screen, but its HD and gives a fantastic viewing experience all-around.
- 8 MP Rear Camera
- Comes w/ OIS, Dual Flash, Autofocus, Touch to Focus, and Smile Detection
- Aperture of f2.2
- HDR-capable camera
- Slow motion and panorama modes available
- Can record 1080p video at 60 FPS and 720p at 240 FPS
- 1.2 Front-facing camera
The iPhone 6 Plus's camera is packing some fantastic specs to make arguably the best smartphone camera today. The added bonus of OIS (optical image stabilization) lets the user take great photos even with a shaky hand. The HDR (high dynamic range) mode allows for more realistic and dynamic photos to be captured. While an 8MP seems a little small these days, the number of camera modes (slow motion, time-lapse, burst, etc.) certainly make up for that.
- Apple A8 chip
- PowerVR GX6450 Graphics Processor
- 1 GB of RAM
- Comes in 16/64/128 GB of storage
- speed of 2 GHz
- Battery life: 16 days standby
The iPhone 6 Plus comes with Apple's latest dual-core chip, the A8, complete with 1 GB of RAM. Even though it's a dual-core phone with only a gig of RAM, make no mistake about it: it does run smooth. In fact, the iPhone 6 Plus is almost neck and neck in terms of performance with the Samsung Galaxy S6 (which has an octa-core processor and 3GB of RAM). The graphics chip gives the phone smooth graphics and a nice CPU speed of 2GHz certainly helps with multitasking and gaming. Its battery is powerful enough to last two days without a charge with medium use.
- Fingerprint scanner
- iOS 8
The iPhone 6 Plus certainly does prove why it's one of the top phones out there. It has specs that may look poor, but it practically blows some of its competitors out of the water.
