Great New Windows and Windows Phone 8 Devices

If you are in the market for a new smartphone or tablet, consider one that is powered by Windows 8 or Windows Phone 8. If you were to download Microsoft Windows 7 and compare it to Windows 8, it would be fairly clear why Microsoft decided to develop an operating system that has a user interface that can be easily migrated to a mobile platform. So, it's easy to see why Windows Phones have gained a great deal of popularity over the past year after the release of a slew of great quality smartphones and tablet computers made by Nokia, HTC, and Acer, respectively; the user experience from Windows 8 easily transfers over to the mobile experience and vice versa. Now that it is nearly November, there are more great devices to look forward to that you might want to explore.

There are certainly new tablets coming that are running on Windows 8. One of the latest is the Sony VAIO Tap 11, which is said to be one of the best on the market. It can easily compete with the Surface tablets that were manufactured directly by Microsoft. It includes a sleek and attractive design and includes support for a stylus and a holder attachment for a portable keyboard. The keyboards for these devices include a battery, which means it will automatically charge if you find yourself running low on juice. The screen measures in at 11.6 inches and the display is IPS with edge-to-edge glass and a 1080-pixel resolution. There is even wireless charging built into the device, the connector for which appears at one of the sides of the bezel. There is an i5 fourth-generation Intel Core processor and 4GB of RAM. The device runs on Windows 8 64 bit.

There are rumors that HTC is slated to release a smartphone that runs on Windows Phone 8 that sports the same form factor and build as the very popular HTC One Android phone. If these rumors prove to be true, there is a good chance the phone will be available in color choices of silver, blue, red and black as these are the colors that are prevalent throughout the platform. Last year's 8X smartphone had choices of 8GB or 16GB of internal storage, so it is likely to see the same in the new devices. It wouldn't be surprising though if such a flagship had 32GB, especially since this is the norm.

Nokia is giving users much to look forward to within the coming weeks. Its Lumia line has thrived over the past year, especially after offering cheaper budget-friendly smartphones such as the Nokia Lumia 520 and 521. The next offering is the 1520, which will include an HD 6-inch 1080 resolution screen, internal storage choices of 16GB or 32GB, 2GB of RAM and a 20-megapixel camera. It is believed select carriers will offer this phablet.

Of course, there is also Nokia's 1020, which is currently one of the most popular Windows Phones. It includes a 4.5-inch AMOLED PureMotion screen, 32GB of internal storage, 2GB of RAM and the incredible 41-megapixel camera that takes superb photos, particularly those that are captured in low-light situations. With a bit of research, you might be able to create some royalty free stock photos and eventually build your skill to make money from contributing to popular stock photography websites. The phone is available in color choices of black, white or yellow and is an AT&T exclusive. Some believe that it might eventually be available in variants at the other major wireless carriers.
